Just a quick question; How does this Seniority thing work in relation to proposed new Picks/Transformation etc?
As Tuesday's my day off nearly Every week, I Never get to hear attend the WTL, or get any feedback form new updates/proposals/changes.
( For a Communication Company, we don't communicate or disseminate info downwards well/at all.)

The thing is...I've had "someone" ask me/question how long I've been with RM, a decade almost...and they are a bit less. This was sorta outta the blue.
Got a sneaky suspicion that this person is trying to wangle something, via the backdoor, to get an unprofessional jump ahead of me. Sixth sense tells me this is so, as they were in deep discussion with a Manager 2 days ago, closed door, and usually the doors are always open access.

So, can I "pull rank" if this person does the dirty? Might be nothing but 2 and 2 are 4 in my book.
Won't be the first time they pulled a similar stunt and got caught out by another staff member.

ask for a seniority list to be posted on the notice board,saves any argument,all staff can see where they are.

Seniority has always been applied in all the offices I have worked at is also displayed. If someone you know is above you and shouldn't be it would soon get sorted..

They are looking at adding together the years of the van sharers in our office and using that. Two guys will have 70 years if that goes ahead.

. They want PnL duties to be 1 FT x 1PT, so seniority doesnt work.

Not in my office.

We have park and loop with two PT, two Ft and mixed. Some drivers are part time with a full time passenger, and vice versa.

Seniority seems to work.

We are about to have a repick and suddenly all the people who are near the bottom of the seniority list are all on atos with bad knees,asthma etc.The reason for this is to get a single van driving duty before anyone else,how can this be allowed to happen.

This is where local agreement falls flat on its face. Diff rules for diff offices , just wrong in my book. Deffo with certain aspects, as some need to be locally agreed due to circumstances, but the majority should be national.

We were told lapsing would end at the end of August as mail increases in September, and yes it has doubled in the last 9 days, has lapsing ended? No ? Why? Coz theyve sacked 4 staff,havent replaced them, and they cant cover the 2 lapsing rounds

Our small office was told we can only leave HCTs 5mins, have to have them in sight, have to have all tracked/specials/recordeds in sa pouch on our personat all times - 1 guy gut suspended and will be sacked for leaving it 15mins. Yet the nearby bigger sorting office near the town centre, there guys leave their HCTs upwards of 45mins, delivery guys miles away, nothing said.

Even inside our office, its diff rules for diff people. The guys who prep 2 duties are getting away with murder. Lets say I spend 2 hrs on IPS, they spend 1hr on the extra duty and 1 hr on their own duty - result ?? I come off IPS to an empty frame and these guys are bagging up. Same wage, but I work an hour extra every morning.

How many hours do you work a day? How many hours do you get paid for in RM?

I get paid for 7 48 hours a day and that's what RM gets.............anymore and they have to pay for it.

EVR`s at the local MC : apparently, doing it on seniority didnt suit some people so it was done on salary,ie how much O/T + allowance each postie got in previous year. Prossessing did it that way but Deliveries (in same building) did it by seniority. Sounds like a stitchup in Prossessing.
