Job tested and sorted

Fed up explaining every day I won't go an hour or so over my time every day ,, every day I get the face,,,atonished look that I want to just do my hours. They know I want my job tested ,,how long does this simple procedure take to come round ,, and why do the bosses all go home early and expect us to go hours put our time . Only. A handful of staff using trolleys as they want us to do,,we are the ones that do are going over our time !! Pi ssed off posty .

i am the only one in my office who very often will refuse to go over my time.. the look on their face is one of pure disgust i too use a hct on the odd occasion and if you do it as your suppose to do[no bag etc] its totally too much in the time you have. Lets be completely honest royal mail only gets by cos of the foolish goodwill of its staff... you know the ones... NO BREAKS ....COME IN EARLY...RUN AROUND..its shameful what goes on at royal mail and i really deep down detest this job now as in previous posts i have slated the CWU for doing nothing to help its over worked members this union is washed up and are totally inefective you really are by your self in this job

It is amazing to see that the " foolish goodwill " as you state, is the biggest asset in RM managements armoury. We really are taking a stick to our own backs, and it is long overdue for DO staff to grow a pair and stand up to this form of bullying. Unfortunately managers seem to always get the easy option too often and many staff still accept this form of intimidation as a rule of thumb - we have to accept it. We don't.
Managers really need to be taken to task over the methods they adopt towards staff who's only crime is wishing to work their contracted hours without staff being made to feel inadequate or " letting the office down " due to managements inability to MANAGE ( the clue is in the job title !!! )

Actually the conduct code shouldn't be necessary.
Counselling is a far better option. If someone comes in 30 minutes early, they should be taken into the office for 45 minutes counselling. I'm sure they would soon get the message.

Get real.
If you were running your own business and your STUPID staff wanted to start early and run round with no breaks would you stop them?
No boss in their right minds would and we all know that these nutters keep the business ticking over and help achieve the managers bonuses!
The pressure is then on those that do the job properly to keep up and its not possible.
This is just how the business want it, it benefits them.
