Hi folks,

Our office is about to start our revision, and having my partner in the same office, we are over 30 difference in the seniority list.
We have asked if there are any ways to make sure we have the same time off (wally weeks), as per norm negative response, but claiming other offices have found solutions!!. Can anyone help/ guide if there is any solutions to our problem. thx in advance

the most senior defers their pick until it reaches the least senior of the pair

then you pick together - whether you get what you want is debatable

but it is the only fair solution we came up with

thx, but there would be no chance at all of getting rest weeks, dont have to work together. some suggest split the seniority between 2 of us!

What difference does it make if they are Wellington weeks. It's not like you have to align the same rest days just ask your rest group for the week you want, you'll all get one within the six week rotate???

its an option, my partner is high senoirity and im the other scale, but really depends on the good nature of whoever is in my group, as the revison is duty & wally weeks picked together.

and also the shared van duties they both have the same wally week. so negotiating will be difficult!!

Just be thankful that your partnership is still strong enough to want to spend time off together.

cant you just ask someone who has the same rest week as your partners to swap with you if you dont get the same ?

We have had this in my office. All you have to do is make sure you have the same duty make up ie 5 day rotate or 9 day forthnight or 4 day week. Then speak to the others who are in your 'set' and change around the days off on the first week of the duty starting. If you cannot do this with your 'set' then your partner will have to speak to the folks in his/her 'set'. Nobody goes without a day off so I would say folks would mind swapping. Hope this helps.
