Hi all

Been of sick for 10 days with a bad back. Am still in a a lot of pain when I wake up in the morning but gets better as day goes on doctor has sign me off for another week but am bored out of my brain was thinking about go back to work but was worried if I go back to work and go straight on a sage one, then go sick again with same thing will i end up on a stage 2.
what should I do ? and how many days is it before you go on a stage one.

im in the same predicament mate iver been off nearly 3 wks i want go back and do "something" as like yourself im bored out of my skull but and am also worried if i have to go off again it will trigger another stage. catch 22

Firstly if it is the same condition you/your rep should be able to argue against the issuing of a stage 2 if that scenario occurred.
Secondly it would depend how quick your managers are at issuing stage warnings, because if you were to go sick again before the stage 1 was issued, s/he couldn't then issue the stage 2.
Thirdly a staggered return to work should be agreed with ATOS and consequently any inability on your part to continue working would have to go through them.

So first stop is an ATOS referral.

thanks mate my dom will issue the stage one as soon as I walk in the door. my dom has been phoning me most days to see whats going on. Am off back to the doctors Friday for another sick note would love to go back, but don't think I could go back and do a whole round as when I wake up my back is killing like its locked up and takes a good few hours to get it going. do you have to phone in every day once you have a sick note?
not heared any think from atos yet.

Im not in the union any more as I got sharfted a few years back when I lost my driving money.
