Over what hours does overtime pay start?

Im contracted to 25 hrs but because im a reserve for the foreseable future ill be working 39 hrs. Does the overtime rate kick in after my contracted hours or over 39. The postie I was paired with does 25hrs and he says the better rate kicks in after his contracted hrs but im sure I heard it was after 39.

"Enhanced o/t rate" kicks in after 39 hours, hours worked over contracted up to 39 are paid at basic rate.

Ive actually just this minute checked a wage slip because I did 9.30hrs over my time and got 86.84 which works out at £9.14 hr. My normal rate is £8.58. Overtime at sspr whatever that is.

that is the rate between your contracted hrs and 39, after which the next 10hrs are at the higher rate then it drops down again

We are nearly there - just to confuse matters you are paid delivery supplement (DS) up to 39 hours but, only your contracted hours DS shows on your pay slip. To pay you the DS from 25 hours to 39 your hourly rate of pay goes up to reflect that. After 39 hours there is no DS, and after 10 hours Overtime the rate goes down.

So on a 50 hour week you would see

1. First 25 hours basic pay + DS
2. 26 Hours to 39 - enhanced basic to take into account DS.
3. Weekday PT first 10 hrs
4. Overtime at the over 10 hours rate.

Thankyou,a bit confusing but broken down for me great. So what would be my pay before tax at £8.58 per hr over 39 hrs taking into consideration extra pay suppliment and some overtime rate? Think I get it to roughly £354 but I may have worked that out wrong.

That will be round the right figure - my basic without DS is £372 but as you're a trialist (still in first year) your basic over 39 will be a little less.
