How many times do we try and deliver parcels when customer aint home ?
Cant see any guidelines on this anywhere ?
After 2 delivery attempts, am I right in saying its for customer to collect ?

Not in my office ive done 5 before ive got rid.

after 2nd attempt i always write on pkt and 739 "2nd attempt please collect"

There is no limit, but the item is only held for 18 days from date of first attempted delivery

My boss says 3 tries.
Though my own opinion is why ask for a redelivery and go out? Idiots.

We have always been told only one redelivery attempt then the customer has to collect.

had this last week,
i was told 3 goes so mentioned it after the 2nd re-delivery attempt failed again.
was told again its 3 and there's only been 2 so far, i asked what about the 1st, they seemed puzzled when i said id already tried 3 times?

it should be taken out as many times as a customer requests up until it exceeds its retention period
personally i think there should be a charge for redelivery after 3 failed attempts

I agree anything over 3 attempts we should be charging for postage again. We were told at a course a few weeks back that a customer can request re-delivery 18 separate times, one attempt for every one of the 18 calendar days until its returned to sender, flipping madness if you ask me!

It could be a "management" issue. They get the re-delivery requests and should organise them, or get someone to. However, if they don't and the request date has already passed then a lazy manager may send it out on the off chance.UnhappyGremlin wrote:My boss says 3 tries.

it annoys me when they want a Special Delivery item redelivered and when you get there they leave a note saying... can you deliver to the house over the road
