Today was shambles, the amount of packets we had was crazy. didnt finish till 2 and a half hours over my normal time. packets in my opinion are becoming too much.

Royal mail states that packets are going up (and letters are going down (yeh right) ) , So how are we supposed to finish on time, Packets are most definatly increasing in quantity (and size it seems) and we all know packets are time consuming to deliver for multiple reasons. (waiting for them to answer door, filling out red card, not able to fit in pouches so having to drive etc).


I dont understand Royal mails logic, the thing that causes the most time to deliver is increasing, yet we still expect you to finish on time.

I work to time as its the packets that add all the time on now,,knock on door ,,wait,fanny about with the PDA. ,,write out a notice left . In minority as I start at my time too.

You make the mistake of thinking RM management are Logical. They're all just Bonus Driven from the Top to the Bottom. They don't care if any system makes logical sense, or is more efficient, they will just try to get as much work out of the minimal number of Posties for the least amount of cost!

I agree that parcels/packets are a pain. I just try and do the job properly. I won't be pressurised into door stepping and I chooose not to run up and down the street trying to find a neighbour whose in. If there's no answer I 739 them everytime!

The Regular Posties can be our own worst enemy by leaving parcels/packets with Mum...Nan...Corner Shop etc but they only do one duty. When you're moving around you can't be expected to remember where "Everyone" wants their parcels hidden. I tell them If you order stuff make sure you've made arrangements for it's delivery...Even if it's just a note on the inside of the door. Normally I tell them to get it delivered to where they work.
