I'm not voting because I don't work for RM now, and they're not going to give shares to RM pensioners. I did rts the 'Colleague Shares' because I thought they were a con.

What better way to voice your opposition to privatisation than telling them you don't buy into their vision, you don't want their shares?

Wrong vermin, although they probably recommended it. The true vermin worthy of your wrath would be the government who will be giving us the shares.

Like FT I'm not in charge, if my wife says I'm keeping them then I'm keeping them..........I do have a spare room but I doubt I'll even be allowed to sleep there :nervous

Unlikely. These are authentic shares, not to be confused with the phantom Colleague Share scheme. The only way the share price could fall to zero, or trading in the shares be suspended, would be if the entire company were insolvent and administrators were called in. They would always have some intrinsic value, even if only the sum total of all the land, buildings, trucks, trailers, vans etc. Add all that up, divide that sum by the number of shares in circulation, and there would be a basic value (share price) below which the shares would be highly unlikely to fall. What that level is, I have no idea. But shares issued for free that are worth something, in 3 years time, you might as well accept.
I have principles. I also have testicles. But I know what will happen if I stick to the former. I will almost certainly lose the latter!

I'm with Jessie J on this one - it's not about the money.

If the statistics at the top of the page were for real, that would give the journalists something to write about.

It's very easy, in an anonymous poll, to say that you won't accept the free shares. Thousands of posties cannot even bother to vote on important issues, like pay deals, even though it takes only minutes to tick a box and stick a stamp on the envelope.

I will be amazed if those who go to the trouble of refusing the shares exceeds 1% of the eligible employees.
