I thought the tests where made easier for new recruits too. Any management tests for normal posties is mission impossible . I have first hand experience. Phew lucky escape .

So our management took a new route! Interview people 1st, choose the ones they want, then get the cleverest guy in the office to do their online applications for them Even did it in the doms office when he was off

When I did mine many years ago I recall it being all puzzles and stuff, no idea what it is nowadays. But yeah, apparently people fail them all the time

All I remember is an online sorting test and rhetorical questions like "you find a missorted item of mail at the end of delivery, do you?"

A) go back and redeliver
B) hide it and do it tomorrow.

You could be right Jimmy, it's longer than 21 years for me I think it's 24 - but I remember being in a room with about 20 candidates and having to answer a myriad of questions from a 10 ? page booklet - multi choice I believe with the odd explain so and so. On reflection I'm not entirely sure I remember what position I was applying for it could have been for a supervisor in a MC. Only about 6 of us got through and about a fortnight later I was offered a job but wasn't ready to go back to work. However a year later I applied again and it was totally different just questions on post codes as far as I recall anyway I was interviewed by the DOM and the unit rep and was asked if I was serious about wanting to be a postman - well the proof of the pudding as they say.
