Same at our place. Rep not signed anything despite constant bullying from DSM's to sign it off so they can move on. Even refused to agree repick (with backing from majority of members) until walks are sorted. At the mo its as mess and we are in the alleged "quieter months".

Yes! Our office has been threatened to have the revision replanned if it isnt signed off soon. Basically a few in house problems our union rep has been dealing with has put the sign off on halt as he refused to sign it off until all other matters were resolved. He has now gone on holiday and told the stand in rep not to sign it off until all issues are resolved.

When rounds have changed by a certain percentage in an office all qualifying deliveries are opened up for a repick.

Now starting with the most senior posties (been there the longest, not age of postie), each person picks a round until all the rounds and cover duties are picked. Everyone else without a round left becomes a reserve (or line manager slave/bitch).

The most senior postie gets their most favoured round, aka the easiest. The last person who gets to pick a round often (nearly always) gets the worst one. And so on.

That's roughly it. You may know it as a resign.

It's crap, it's not fair but there isn't really a better alternative.

All duties should be relatively equal (though I accept that this is rarely the case). And, at the end of the day, irrelevant of what duty anyone gets, you have contracted hours and aren't required to go past them. So if it has an unmanageable workload, then it should be reported and sorted out. (Though it is more likely the manager will try and bully the postie into completing, for free).
I personally think it is a fair system, everybody has to go through it. It also should (but not always) prevent favouritism, as if managers issued duties to staff, their pets would get easy, probably made for them duties, and every one else would just get whatever. And if the manager had a particular dislike for someone, they would get royally shafted.
I am fully aware of equality/diversity and discrimination etc., but management ignore these for the most part.
I prefer to pick my duty, than have one assigned to me.
