WHOLESALE changes to the postal delivery system are set to be introduced in Nottingham in the coming weeks.

Due to increases in larger postal items and less letters being sent every day, the Royal Mail has invested in new equipment to help postmen and women carry the parcels and make them more secure.

Routes in the NG2 post-code area have been revised, meaning some customers will get their mail earlier, while some will have to wait longer.

Royal Mail says many customers will continue to get their mail by lunchtime, but this will vary depending on volumes.r

Every Nottingham address will be subject to a new route, and Royal Mail is in the process of writing to residents and businesses across the city as they phase in the changes.
