Bullying at the work place

I have worked for the royal mail for a number of years and over the past few years my health has deteriorated and I have fallen under the DDA

i have managed to work full time and to be honest my manager has not really given any adaptions to my walk,however over the last 6 months or so i have been picked on like a child in a play ground, both managers have an issue if i work over and ask to book the time- i have to listen to at least 20 min of questioning of why i have gone over blah blah........ any one would think i had committed a crime!!!

but the latest is really getting me down and knocking my confidence in that i keep being threatened that i am going to be timed on my walk ????? previously i have been timed by my manager and an independent body and they found nothing, i am now being threatened by the ATOS people....... please can anyone tell me is this allowed regardless of whether i fall under the DDA ? Should i agree to this or should i bring a grievance against the dragon in question?????

IF you feel that they are making you life impossible you may have a case for contructive dissmisal .But i would consult a lawyer before hand. In the mean time record them and make a diary of every thing they do . you will need this for later .

The one question I have is regarding you booking the overtime. If you believe that you are unable to complete, and this is before you have left to deliver your duty, you should be obtaining your line managers authority to do overtime. If he believes that you should be able to complete, he should provide you with his reasons why (ie traffic volumes), and then if he refuses to authorise overtime, you should then discuss working to your contracted hours, and at this point the line manager should deal with this situation through the Overrunning Deliveries procedure. He should agree a time to call you, generally 30 minutes to 1 hour before the end of your contracted hours, to see how you are getting on. You should then at this point confirm to him whether you will complete the duty in your hours or not. If you cannot, he should then provide you with information on what to do with any mail that you will be unable to deliver. Once you have dropped the excess mail off to the agreed point you have fulfilled your duty to the company. If your line manager does not follow this agreed procedure and continues to harass you, then you should ask for a Bullying and Harassment Claim Form, and a Grievance Procedure Form. Complete both. One is for the way you are being treated and the other is for his failure to follow company procedures.

Familiar situation blatant "Bullying".Make sure you sign consent form before you speak to Atos.If i knew then what i know now.Things would and should have been nipped in bud.Get area rep involved im afraid the tactics there using are unsettling you and believe me they will stop at nothing to rid this company of F/Timers.It is more savings bigger bonuses for those playing "managers".I only wish i had dealt with things in the old fashion way,it still could happen cant wait.Its called justice.

speak to union.
make notes on every incident...keep a diary.

if you know your going into a meeting...record it on your phone just in case...you may be able to use it.

throw in a greivance.
if it becomes mor eunbearable you will no doubt have to go off sick.....it relates to your greivance thats why you put it in.

constructive dismisall could be a route but only in relation to the dda......ihr may be a better route to go down.
constructive dismissal is a risk imo....but seek union advice.

I know exactly how you feel, exactly the same thing has happened to me. I get the constant bullying too, I have also been timed on my walk and they have threatened to time me again and when I refused absorbing the manager turned round to me and said I wasn't fit for my job and threatened me with ATOS. He said Im sending you to ATOS I said fine do what you like, I have tried to book overtime in the past and been refused and I have had the constant bullying, because I refused absorbing they said they could sack me which I insisted they couldn't, to which the manager turned round to say no but I can sack you on peformance. I felt like I was on the verge of a nervous break down with the constant bullying and the work they want me to do in the time given, I have also found it hard with the work load they expect you to do. I am now on sick leave with depression and stress and I believe the big part is Royal Mail with their attitudes, I just couldnt cope any longer!!!

As previous folk have said, if u feel u r not going complete within the time given either forecast overtime or just tell them u can't complete and ask them for solutions, they r paid the big bucks to come up with solutions, u can't be sacked for doing ur job properly and not running round, also put grievance in, but always record everything in a diary, and if anything comes of it u have ur notes, good luck,

simple if they dont wanna pay your overtime then dont do it. cut off and finish on your time.

At one point i felt exactley the same but with union help and at last standing up to there bullying attitude i get through it ,not great but manageable ,once they know you cant be bullied they do back down (chin up)

most managers are windbags I would say if you go over book it and if they don't pay you report it to personnel!
