Hi is there anyone on painmeds for arthritis just stopped taking prescription cocodamol since it stopped working for me,been given tremadol but its making me very sleepy and itchy,are you on anything that works many thanks

i was on tramodol after knee replacement after havng grade 4 arthritis. it did take the edge off the pain, but the side effects are horrendous. constant dry mouth, feeling low with depression. coming off it gives you axniety, and you get the shakes and restless leg syndrome in bed. it also makes you constipated which you have to counteract with senna, but thats a bit dodgy being out on delivery. you can literally find yourself in the s**t.,,a good prescription drug for arthritis is ''diclofenac'' if you're doc will give you it. it really does the job. after i came off that i was advised, to take ibuprofen which can be bought over the counter. i only take paracetamol now on bad days.

I think most delivery postman have been on this at some stage or other. Although it's an anti-inflammatory drug it's great for relieving all sorts of aches and pains.

Use Tramadol and co-codamol. Double strength.

Paracetamol and ibuprofen...........take them throughout the day to take the edge off the pain, only move onto Kapake in extreme cases (which means they still work ).

I've gone through quite a few pain meds in the past few years. The cocodamol 30/500 i could'nt use for work as they space me out, best for a good nights sleep, so 8/500's for work. Trouble with them is they have quite a few side effects and if you take them regularly they can give you rebound headaches. The GP gave me a big box of Diclofenac which I use if I'm having a bad week, got through a few of them last week! I think they've stopped prescribing them now due to stroke risk. Voltarol Gel is good. I've not been given Tramadol yet, perhaps thats my next lot

I was on Tramadol & Diclofenac with the addition of either Oxycodone tablets or Morphine patches while I was working, the patches equalise the dosage to prevent the ups & downs.

Now it's just Tramadol & Diclofenac & I never walk more than 3Km a day & not every day.

im currently on naproxen ( i belive they prescribe this now instead of diclofenac ) diazapam and zapain for chronic back pain been off for nearly 2 weeks now meds are great but they send me to sleep not good if your a driver. For once i have to praise ATOS they have been extremely helpful with my condition

On a more serious note, Cannabis is a massive pain reliever with no nasty side effects and completely toxic free*

Tramadol was the best I was on for pain however, after three months I had to come off it because it completely suppressed my appetite.

The problem with Co-codamol 30/500 is they are an absolute bitch when you have to come off them, especially if you have been taking them a while. I go through spells with them, and when my dose runs out, I have to then take the 8/500 for a while, as just stopping them dead gives me horrific withdrawal symptoms.

Yes, nothing more effective than a good dose of Morphine, as far as I can remember.
