has anyone heard of this before, we are going though a revision at the moment and today the manager said we could have a light touch revision which doesnt use georoute it is a table top with shared van. i think they have worked out they can not save money with georoute. manager was trying to sell this light touch and wants it in for begininning october i smell a rat

You've a good sense of smell. If it's suggested by the dom, it's obviously more favourable to him.

Equally, common-sense may have prevailed ..

RM do not have enough planners to complete the outstanding Delivery Method Revisions as laid out in BT2010, so are likely to rush them through to make whatever savings they can and still f**k the job for us posties.

We have these 'light touch' revisions going in in all the smaller rural offices and tbh it is working out quite well for them as the new walks are not much bigger and they were never that big to start with as most have not had revisions since SDD. The big town offices have been shat on big time though with full georoute revisions and 5hr+ walks. In reality that is, supposed to be just over 4hrs

Table top revisions are perfectly acceptable. They are used to make minor tweaks/adjustments, nothing major. To the point where it shouldn't require a re-sign.
But, I wouldn't trust the DOM one iota.
As long as you have a decent Rep involved in the normal manner, then it should be ok.
