Shake up in Westbury postal delivery times

People in Westbury could see a change in the delivery time of their post over the next few weeks, after Royal Mail introduced a new system for delivering letters and parcels on Monday.

The town is one of the first areas to see changes as part of a Royal Mail modernisation programme.

The changes mean Royal Mail will continue to deliver in the morning and for longer during the day, with the time customers receive their post depending on where they live on new routes.

Posties will now drive to a point on the route in a shared van, before getting out and delivering the post to the homes in that area, before moving on to the next point.


Royal Mail spokesman Rhys Jones said: “All it means is that we will be doing deliveries more or less at the same time as before, although some may receive their post slightly earlier than before and others a little bit later.

“We are writing to every address in Westbury about these changes.”
