revision kicked in today

revision went live today.how can the planners with so much information at there finger tips make such a balls up of the walks,parts of walks missing,streets back to front,it was a shambles,who,s going to put it right? you guessed it,sticky tape all over the frames,i wouldnt pay them in rocking horse s**t,so much for the way forward

Our revision went quite smoothly and works well. It's been in for just over a year and we've had no major problems.

Mind you, the planners were kicked out and the revision was done by our rep.

Maybe they don't actually need these overpaid, failed postmen. Just get someone who knows the area.

Oh wait, that won't waste thousands of pounds and might work.

A lot depends on the hours that they are willing to put in to the resourcing. We are going through a revision and they are supposed to be releasing the rep and the aplus guy to go through the system and check for mapping errors etc, but they wont pay for covering the walks so nothing gets done.

They kept screwing up ours, particularly the labelling on the frames. I ended up cutting it all up into little pieces and fitting it back like a jigsaw. Got bits missing all over the place now so I just write the numbers on the framework!

It just goes to show that revisions can work. Just not if they are planned by RM.

Had revision 4 weeks ago -L18 . it hasn't been as bad as i thought ,but that's cos our rep had a big say on how it was implemented. Also had 1hour early overtime on offer so lot of walks chucked in. We will feel it when the people who opted for VR leave and the OT stops and when summer ends!

ps- went for a HCT walk instead of shared van. Best decision ever!

Part of our d.o. starts their revision tomorrow.less than a quarter have been offered the supposed 1 Saturday in 4, with the proviso that 4 f/t jobs will have to go, more outrageous conditions placed on every other positive aspect of the revision. Union brass hats coming in to propose alternatives to the utter bollocks that RM are hawking. And what's happening to me?
No idea as they've not said a dickie bird regarding what I'm supposed to be doing in a weeks time. Rumour is that they want us p/t to go up to 27.5 hrs a week from 25. If I'm not getting a sniff of a three day week or the 1 in 4 Saturdays, they can shove their thirty extra minutes up their shitters and f**k off while they're doing it.
I do remember reading somewhere that they can't make us change our hours.

Ours was similar, the planner came up with the walks and loops (it took two attempts, the first lot took months to plan and was thrown out because every walk was miles too long), then the posties who knew what they were doing corrected them all before they went live.

The result was it worked out fairly well with no major issues.

Well that was a joke, 3 piss poor revision options, none of which benefitted me in any way. The least harmful was voted in.
16 f/t get 1 in 4 Saturdays. So that leaves even less Saturdays available for the likes of me who gets 1 when whoever is planning the duties is distracted and let's its slip through without changing it to a Tuesday.
Rep was off today, those of an uncharitable nature may just think that he knew he'd best keep his head down.
