i would like to know what break patterns are at other offices?.
do most take 40 minutes before you leave your office
or do you take 20 mins in the office and 20 outside
or perhaps its a mixture, some taken 40 and others 20 + 20, in same office
and do CWU have hard polcy on this,or is there flexibility

As in our office you must take 20 before you go out but can have 20 minutes after your time. If you do not you lose the 20 minutes if you do not take them before hand!

How do the part time staff stand with working with you then not that I am part time.

We have the full 40 minutes at 8am, though some days this is only a hour after starting work.

The part timers take their 30min breaks, 40 mins after starting work !

Your meant to have a break after 3/4 hrs work, or something similar !

Our's are 5 day week and 27-28 hours a week so much for the way forward agreement then.

Think it's just applicable to D.O. staff, as there workload can be moved about without detriment to it.
Most MC's/Collection Hubs have breaks when it is most appropriate(when there is little mail to sort/collect) for the managers to arrange it.
They couldn't have people just quitting 20 minutes before time so they can go home early, and leave mail unsorted/boxes un-emptied.
MR's have to be taken as scheduled for you I'm afraid.

Correct, but do you think it will remain RM's problem if that was discovered?

It could also be argued that it is the posters colleagues problem as well - assuming they are taking the correct 40 minute meal relief (along with their partners) then they are in fact doing more work than the guys taking an 80 minute break. How is that fair?

I am assuming the guys taking an 80 minute break per day are able to complete - now picture some of their colleagues who may have trouble completing getting hassled by management while these 2 guys are ripping the piss and using twice their paid meal relief. Fair eh!
