RSI using LWT
I'm having trouble using the light weight trolley. I get pain in my wrist and elbow, presumably its RSI. The position of the handle means you have to twist your wrist to hold, either pushing or pulling. Anybody else had similar issues?
What have I done to deserve this?

Sorry to go a lil off topic, But I push my trolley, but everyone else seems to pull it, is there a right way?

Re: RSI using LWT
You're supposed to pull it, but I push it, easier to avoid the dog dirt and other 'obstacles'. If you don't use it (and resort to a pouch slung over the shoulder) you will open yourself up to other problems such as back, shoulder and neck problems well known in the trade for many years. I suppose it's 'choose your RSI'?!

There is no right way or wrong way, you can either push or pull, what ever the individual finds more comfortable, there has also recently been a brief or LTB about a longer handled version for tall people, will try & search it out

Re: RSI using LWT
New work methods lead to knackered knees, hips, wrists, elbows etc etc. Bikes didn't impact on joints in this way. This is a ticking time bomb and it's a disgrace that RM and CWU have allowed it to happen. The human cost of the changes appear to have either been overlooked or ignored.

You are supposed to pull, but its far more efficent to push. The negatives are if you are going fast and you catch it on something it can go into you and f***ing hurt... Easier to pull it up kerbs but it makes more sense to push it.
Can't imagine how you'd get RSI from pulling it

Or he could mean too fast to stop in the time from the collision of the obstruction and the trolley, and impaling yourself on said trolley.hampshireman wrote:So , why would you be going fast?
