summer lapsing is back!!!!

We had a revision last year which done away with lapsing. Well now it's back!!!! Can't understand how Dom/royal mail get away it......

In our office it went like this

Fulltimers given a vote for longs n shorts - start later Mon and Tue and earlier Wed Thur Fri

Fulltimers told if they vote for it then there will be no lapsing and if they vote against it there will

Part timers given no vote at all ( and its a majority PT office as well )

Part timers told it wouldn't effect them

Longs n shorts voted in for ALL ( PT start on a monday at 9.33am for instance and 8.47 on a Thurs etc )

Two weeks later told we will all be lapsing as well

We have all kicked up a stink and rightly so so its been delayed until.....next week?

No revision will ever do away with lapsing,only reduce your capacity to absorb more workload.

Well its already put it back a few weeks and hopefully by the point they get round to trying it then the summer will be done.

how can you have a majority pt office ?

There are a LOT of reserves/floaters/PT duty holders

We have something like 17 full timers and the office has been pretty much kept running due to PTs coming in at 7 and doing 2 hours OT

Something like 8 or 9 FTS have recently been suspended or taken VR and they haven't been replaced, no one has been made up

Our office had been bringing loops back from pretty much day 1 of the revision and all working to our time. We pretty much get spied on and tested constantly almost every day of every week. Who wants to work in those conditions? The managers think the job is a doodle and we are all ripping the piss.

Should we sit back and take it? Most of us are out at least 4 hours 15 as it is.

I haven't done any lapsing this summer but I start on time , whereas the twats that start early have got to do it as they have the time
don't they ever learn
