managers nottice for your day off

Would like to know what the correct procedure is for a DOM to issue you with your day off for the next working week. Having been on a float for years i can plan my weeks, months ahead as we are set days that rotate from 1 week to the next. My point here is, im seeing alot of reserves mucked about and not knowing what they are doing from one week to the next. So my Q is, when should they be told when there day off is for the following week. As we all know some folk have child care issues and need to plan this and give days off.

Any info would be appreciated thanks

I usually get told on the Saturday and if not need to ask

Now if you had a child, how could u arrange childcare for the following week with schools and nurseries when everything is shut? Thtas my point

Same here. It's no bloody good not knowing when your day off is. We should have our days off a fortnight in advance.

Normally Monday or Tuesday for the following week, unless they forget to tell me!!!

I'd like to know the answer to this too, been a leave reserve now since our revision came in 18 months ago. I'm p/t, single dad with an 8 year old daughter. Never been told what my week off is unless I ask on the Monday or check what duty I'm covering the next week, like I have time in the morning! I agree L/R should at least get 2 weeks notice so we can at least plan our lives for things like childcare, dentist, doctors eft.
