good advice, other than that,, Royal Mail says stay out there till you drop or die... we don't give a s**t whether your human or not..
Royal Mail is only about Money and not people... so they don't give a s**t.... HARSH,,, but true folks..

And 20 or 30 years on,check your self for sign's of skin cancer paying particular attention to,the face ,ears, arm's,back of neck and shoulders because that's how long it takes to start showing,so when you think about it some of us might well have been affected already.Thanks Moya.

What about us using cycles. Forced to wear cycle helmets which provide no protection to the ears, kneck. Tried putting floppy hat on top of cycle helmet but it won,t stay on, and to be quite honest you look a right divvy. If Royal Mail had any sense of well being for employees, they would switch deliveries to early morning. ie 7am or earlier, and then we go back to sorting for the next day after finishing delivery. I cannot think anyone would object to this for the very short periods in a year that we have these extreme heat conditions. Just mean that mail would be received a day late. Specials would still be delivered as spec.

This is a good idea but sadly good ideas and RM do not go hand in hand , There idea would be "Mails Light" extra lapsing more time in the sun!!!!

I think it is time for us to deliver first then come back and sort the mail for next day but this won't happens. As it is good idea in summer time plus we won't be delivering in dark night in winter

At Westminster, several MPs have backed an early day motion calling for a maximum temperature for workplaces.

They say no-one should have to work anywhere that is above 30C (86F) and those doing "strenuous work" should be allowed to down tools once their workplace reaches 27C (81F).

Surely would only apply to indoor working? When working outdoors and in direct sunlight, the temp would be much higher than that at this time of the year. The temperature we see in the weather news is measured in the shade.
