The Austrailian type hats that RM provide , every loop I am soaking the hat before putting it back on my head and do that every loop.
Also cut your sleeves off the shirts
Plus cut the legs of the shorts down to look like the shorts that girls wear that flash their cheeks

Surprised R.M are not treating this as severe weather conditions and allowing posties to choose wether to deliver or not, or at least letting you all go out earlier.I am so glad i'm retired now. I can just sit out and enjoy the weather, rather than exhausting myself !

I took my high viz off last week, the west of Scotland was boiling plenty fluids, baseball cap and floppy hat getting back to a van nearing 40 c. Doesn't help a wee cheeky ice lolly as well

Will depend if there were already underlined health conditions. However there SHOULD be something in place during hot weather to allow us to stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day.

I remember years ago RM saying about being careful in the hot summer sun and things you could do like putting sun cream on and taking water with you, that's when we finished first delivery for between 9.30 and 10.00 o'clock .Not long after they thought it was a great idea to alter your times to a later finish making the whole thing worse, but Royal Mail thought of something no one else had a floppy hat .So now when you collapse through exhaustion it must be skiving I mean you do have your floppy hat. It also comes in handy to put your car under at night if you don't have a garage.

My driver drives out the yard then does the same amount of loops as me so what then,,he says his work load is greater as I don't drive so should he be wearing a string vest
