Any problem in your delivery office?

In our office we have 60 deliveries and 3 managers. We are lapsing 4 jobs daily . No moaning and groaning . Our DOM and 2 line managers are very understandable , gentlemen and nice guys. No bullying or unpleasantness from managers. Our working days off have been cut to more or less zero but every body is happy and I am sure if lapsing increase to 6 jobs , our staff will stil do it without any objection.

In our delivery office, for happy working relations and conditions... delivery staff is going extra mile ... many time finshing delivery in their own time .Working environment is friendly and pleasant and no bully from management. To achive this situation our office had to work hard together with workforce and managers and we have solved lots of basic problems with mutual understanding . Any debatable topics and issues , both side sit down and talk and resolve it on table rather than taking any rational extreme actions.

Two of our staff got NVQ certificates. They found NVQ course was very helpful and informative.

No sir., its not like that ... no bullying or any pressure from management .... give and take .... thats our motive . One day you give your half an hour but finish delivery in your own time ... next day perhaps you gain and finsh delivery a bit early.

What systems do they have in place to ensure people get their 30 minutes back when they work over, and that its only applied once a week. I am honestly interested to know because our old manager gave up on this because it was so difficult.

Also you seem to suggest that you do more than 30 min flex across the week, that's outside the national agreement but fine if you have a robust agreement, any chance of giving us a brief overview it might be worth adopting if it works so well.

No written down rules or regulations... we use common sense.. finishing the delivery is the most important... 4 jobs lapsing ... OK we will do it ... Joe is dong those streets and Tom is taking out this part ... and Dick .. today you will do that part of business .... and tomorrow ... Harry will do so and so ..... and thats the way we work..... if we stil can not do it .. then one of the manager would take it out and finish the delivery. Working together with respect is in our delivery office.

Think about few years into future ... after full privatisation .. CWU will have no or any place in the business. These local union rep. will not have present "powers" they enjoy now.... and with out these union reps. one way to solve local office problems would be to get together with management and talk. ( Can you rember when GPO was broken and BT came in .... what happend to their local union reps.? )
