I buy cheap crappy envelopes in bulk then I mail it BACK to the companies who sent it to me WITHOUT paying the postage.
So Royal Mail can then charge them for the crap they send through them in the 1st place.
As a customer I DO NOT WANT JUNK MAIL!!! I should not have to "opt out" either!!!
That's silly - it costs RM money and it costs you money. (you buy the envelopes) (RM pay to raise a surcharge, the Co don't pay and RM have to pay to dispose of.)
If you are so keen on sending it back then use the PPI envelopes. Free for you, free for RM and they charge the companies through their account.
As a customer, I don't like them, as an employee they are a traffic stream that brings us profit and keeps at least some of us still working (bundling centres), I do think the Opt out system needs to be looked at though, its long laborious and not customer friendly.

I can't see the problem either. Direct mail does create work for RM employees and the people employed by the mailing firms. It must generate enough interest to the companies using it or they wouldn't go to the expense of doing so.
Sometimes I do get something of interest to me, and the stuff I'm not interested in goes in the recycling bin, not too difficult. and I reuse the reply envelopes, sticking a label over the return address.
how hard is it to just put it all back in your Green Bin ? I don't get it ?? is it some kind of private intrusion thing ??

Yeah I don't get it I don't like delivering it but what's the big deal the way some people react to it is silly just bin it (recycle)
I do understand about unwanted telephone calls though and unwanted sales calls at the door and I do understand scam mail
Is a big problem these are the areas of privacy invasion that need controlling.

When you say "Junk Mail" do you mean addressed mail or unaddressed mail ?
If it's addressed mail just bring a few "Kill Off" stickers home and endorse it as "refused" ... if it's unaddressed ... opt out - you're on a computer to post on here - it's not difficult ...

I find it quite sad that postmen don't know how BRP's work. Just as sad as those who think they're clever by ignoring surcharges and BRP's and delivering them without being docketed. You wouldn't deliver mail for free so why not let RM collect the revenue owed?
Almost all junk mail comes from sustainable forests, therefore the more junk mail you receive the more forests there are.

I do put a stamp on them. Got plenty of my Xmas stamps left. I'm just reusing the envelope.
