Revised delivery walk spans

Our office has just gone live and we were told before the revision that the revised HCT duties would not go over a 4 hours span because that is the maximum at town round on a HCT do could be, now the revision has come in we have now been told it is a 4hr.40 span. The goal posts have been moved dramatically any body else had this and can anyone confirm what the maximum delivery span is for a town round on a HCT?

They are the maximum times though. Shouldn't you have agreed a span (with the staff) for the HCT's which were then put into georoute?

I think that's what's happened.
I think they were spun a line over the whole 4hr thing.

Personally think anything over 4 hours 15 min for a HCT is too much. Getting onto nearly 5 hours pushing a barrow in all weathers wouldn't appeal to me or many others I suspect. A 4.40 span now must lead to 5 hours plus during the heavy days/months.

yes - if that's the official method not just that you decided to use pouches instead of LWTs

no most of the office go out 2 to a van and split 2 deliveries between them using pouches
a few 1or 2 use lwt trolly but they are dropped of by van man and picked up later on replenishing from bags left in boxes
all duties given 4.5 del spa unless you do pkts its 3.5 using van
think weve been had by mgmt and cwu
west of scotland you couldnt make it up
some of the lwt trolly duties now dont use them and run round like the old days using bags

Same here in my west of scotland office. Not even 6 months in and theres one duty out of the 12 that had them allocated that still used the LWT. The rest all run about like headless chickens and use bags on shoulder regardless of weights.

My duty is lwt for 1 walk and pouches for the other, 4:15 to do both walks west of Scotland mess

Or a more likely senario, watch them continue as they have been doing and watch the CWU do nothing.

Lets face it, BT2010 let the management create all the rules for delivery as they see fit, and you have to put up with the consequences.

I don't know what the proper times are meant to be for mine, the 1st walk is 5 loops first 4 are designed to be lwt with 2 bags for each loop then my duty which is bags on shoulder for 11 loops and 21 mins for packets. The walk next to mine failed its test and has 3 loops taken off it. We were over by 20 mins but with no mail or packets, planner had no geographical knowledge of the area brought in from Edinburgh and basically told us tough. Manageble workloads is all I want and they changed or finish times to bulk up on heavy days to save o/t

you are still entitled to finish on time. 5 hrs?! so by the time add on IPS, sort walks, redirects, meal break etc etc how can you do anywhere near 5 hours.

looking at list of times, 39 hour week so we do not have 8 hour shift now.
