Holiday Entitlement for a Saturday Contract

Hi, could anyone tell me what the yearly holiday entitlement would be if you were only contracted for a Saturday contract at 6 hours?. If its pro rata does that mean that any hours worked as overtime also count?. Thanks.

Hi i believe you are entitled to 4.5 days over a year and any extra hours you work are paid as overtime.

For everyone when they start its Four and a half weeks of their weekly contract so 27 hours a year for you.

Now there is a ruling a few years ago that IIRC the leave entitlement should be averaged out over the previous 12 weeks. So if you average 20 hours for 12 weeks then go on leave you should get 20 hours pay according to the ruling. However, getting it is another thing and you'll probably need to involve the Union.

If you do a search for Whitemoor posts on here, he won an ET for the same subject on a Zero Hours contract.

you will get 4 days off per year - and 0.5 carried over for next year

Should be 39 hours, but probably won't, confirm with your manager and if not get the Union on it.
