Got my payslip today and my POAL has reduced. Its normally £10.24 a week, now its stating £7.99. It also states 2 days sick pay(which I've never had on there before), would those sick days reduce the POAL payment?

Have you just reached 15 years service? If so your allocate leave has increased to 5 weeks and therefore you need to pay for less days to get the 6 weeks?

I've just completed 10 years. I've had previous service with RM, when I phoned HR up a few months ago they told me they could'nt find my previous service record......perhaps they've found it now

I think your service accumulates for leave purposes, so you may find you have just totalled 15 years, which would explain the reduction.

No idea about the sick pay thing. Never heard it before.

I would be interested in having this point clarified too. At the moment I purchase a weeks leave to make it up to the six weeks but I have just over 18 years service currently + just over 2 years service from an earlier stint in the job.

Thanks for the heads up Terrier, looks promising, however the devils in the detail and the word "may" in the text might throw a spanner in the works. I'll have a chat with my manager on Monday... but as he's one of those DOM's who thinks that his office budget comes out of his own pocket I'm not going to get my hopes up.

I'll have a chat with my manager on Monday... but as he's one of those DOM's who thinks that his office budget comes out of his own pocket I'm not going to get my hopes up.

I will ring up HR on Monday and ask if my service has been added together to reduce my payment and increase my A/L. If its worked for me its going to be the same for you.

I gave pensions a call and lo and behold they still have my details on record. I now need to write to pensions requesting proof of the dates that I was in the pension scheme and then I have to ask my manager to contact HR.

If I was cynical, I'd be wondering if their failure to find the record of your previous employment was deliberate, to reduce the amount of leave you can have.

Only I get to be cynical.
The truth is the records from before 2000 are the issue.
I think RM deleted them or burned them or they are stored on paper and everybody in HR has forgotten how to operate a filing cabinet..
Anytime any of us try to get member's details from before the millenium we get a sharp intake of breath and "we'll have to get back to you"....then nothing.
