What are the rules on shoulder bags?

For a while we've been told in our office that the old large mail bags with the white strip were against health and safety and not to be used, we were given smaller, poorer quality bags with a yellow strip.

The office down the road (3 miles away) are still using the large bags.

What is the official royal mail policy?

use trolleys or a bag no more than 8kg in weight

You can use either but Post P&L revision its trolleys or 8kg bags maximum and its mandatory.

What are the rules on shoulder bags?

Never wear white on black,always try to match the shoes and never,ever tip a woman's shoulder bag out on the table in a busy pub,all types of embarrassing stuff falls out and you'll be in the spare room for a week.

Whilst i can agree that it is a shock to agree with Crammy.... can you point me to a doc that says that carrying bags after revision is okay ..8kgs or whatever?

I should qualify my post. Its 8kg bags IF that is the designated equipment for that loop or duty. If the duty is a LWT then 8kg bags or even 5kg bags should not be used over the shoulder.

16KG is the limit for walking deliveries not the target - then it drops after 1st bag to 11kg.

and those are the safe maximums, not a target weight, if you dont feel comfortable carrying so much safely then dont.
