Using car in a P&L office

A guy from another office regularly comes to our office to do overtime who is a favourite of the dom.Yesterday he loaded half a HCT walk into his private car and delivered it! Surely this should not be allowed! We are a P&L office and obviously cars were banned months ago! who makes these rules up? how can this be stopped as the overtime is being taken away from the guys in our office who would have to use the trolley!

ive heard its uninsured, if mail was stolen from car then manager (if determined he knowingly allowed this) + postmen would be sacked. You can report it and something will probably be done

We're post revision and a couple still use their car to do their lapsing after work so they can go straight home. Not allowed, but the DIMs favorites have a different rule book here.

unless he has buisness insurance its almost certainly illegal.my car insurace and probably everybody elses covers me for social,domestic,pleasure including commuting to and from a single place of work.

if they are working from their car moving it around the delivery they may need courier insurance not business and that would be very expensive

Someone in our office uses his car on a P&L round. He even has a second job, not going to give it away by saying what, but according to the lino when I asked about it, "he needs to use his car in case he's called urgently for his other job". Management know about it and allow it to happen so he can do his second job.

Is he a retained firefighter?
What job would he need to go to urgently mid-delivery? And what would happen to his undelivered mail?

we are in p&l still some use own cars and vans just to save some time they still work the old way just take there walk out and can be home by 11 every day

As I understand it you don't have your own walk on P&L you each prep a walk in that is split into drivers and walkers loops and then you take the correct loops.
