Hospital appointment

I have a small medical procedure due to be done soon and its only a one day job in hospital. I was wondering are you allowed time off with pay for such appointments. Thank you in advance

If there is a valid argument that the said procedure will benefit the business in some way (make you fitter, faster or less likely to go sick) then possibly.
If not, I don't think they will give you time off with pay for your vasectomy.

Getting time off with pay is a long shot, that is at the discretion of your DOM. If you don't want to lose the money you could always book it as an annual leave day, or if you are on a rotating rest day, try and swop it.

You should get time off for hospital appointments with pay, especially for a small procedure. You have to take in the hospital letter and documents for Royal Mail to photocopy. If refused get straight on to local CWU branch by telephone. For the one day this should be straight forward. The problem occurs when in the days after you then are too ill to go to work and it goes against you under the attendance procedure. The actual hospital day does not go towards a stage but the days after will. Fill in the manager with lots of information on your situation at any back to work interview and before the hospital day as ongoing conditions are looked more favourably. Don't worry about giving embarrassing details, they get paid to listen and make a record, tell them the lot. Good luck with the procedure and take some good magazines to read to cope with all the waiting.

Hahaha dazza it's fine mate I had mine done 6 months ago you will look like that fella who was on tv last nite can't say to much coz ov the ladies on here
