Fiat Doblo vans

We've got 3 so far in our office ahead of the revision and all three, less than a month in use, have broken down. The cause? According to the AA patrolman in the yard today is all the stop/start short journeys. Anyone with half a clue about cars could have told RM that diesels are not fit for this type of use. I suppose they'll have to find out the hard/expensive way.

Using one at the moment me transits in for a new clutch oops wonder how that happened I heard that aswell got to give them a blast but asks the workshop and you have to do some brake and accelerator press for 2 mins till all lights go off some sh@@ like that I like them just becareful you don't smack ye head on the corner of the door and back doors

To clear off the dpf light

Get the van temp to half way

Switch off van
Switch back on
Press brake and accelerator for 10 seconds
Message comes up to start van
It then clears itself and adjusts revs to 2k for 8-10 mins



If both lights are on you have 60 miles to do the above

If you don't only the injector light stays on then your f****d and it must be cleared by workshop else you'll kill it

Happened to our van,in workshop for a week but now perfect.Lots of money wasted for a simple bit of maintenance that the dom ignored

Most of ours have been to get warning lights checked but mostly due to minor things.

The stop/start short journeys problem could be to do with moisture in the engine, because the engine isn't reaching its full operating temperature its not burning off excess water and it just starts building up, thats why thrashing it down the motorway for a while is recommended to burn of the water. Take off the oil cap or look at the end of the dipstick, if there's white stuff on it thats your problem. Its not good for any vehicle to do less than a 10 mile run from start up.

I use a Doblo van and the stop/start display is always on. I think they should rename them Fiat Dobin.......they are so slow pulling away. The stereo is a pain aswell, don't turn off automatically when you take the key out.
