Light duties day off every Tuesday?

Myself and a colleague are on light duties and happen to have the same day off, he is full time and I am part time, he is totally on indoor and I move up up to 4 loops a day next week and am two weeks away before I go on to full duty, this week we both had Thursday off and next week should be Friday and week after our long weekend but was informed today that because we're not on a full duty our day off will be Tuesday every week, I challenged this and said I will see our rep On Monday saying were due our one in 6 sat off like everyone else in the office, expecting our Dom to back down but he was positive he was correct, our rep is only intrested if it effects him so thought I would seek advice on here before I see him on Monday,surely our Dom can't be correct?

Staff on light duties in my office get Tuesday off every week but get their long weekend every 6 weeks

Your scheduled day off is just that.
There may be some rule regarding this that I'm unaware of, but doubt it.

Ask the manager to show you the relevant agreement, if the Rep agrees with the manager, ask them also which agreement it's in and to see it.
If the manager maintains their position, ask to borrow the phone to ring HR for info.

There is the option to tell the manager that they haven't given you enough notice and that you have paid for and booked a weekend away with your spouse/partner/family.

There have been a couple of lads on light duties in my unit in the last 2 years, and this type of thing didn't happen to them.

I don't know if it's an agreement or not but the same thing applies in our office, anyone on ATOS related work plans has the day off scheduled for Tuesday every week.

The problem is that we as reps always argue that the day off follows the duty,not the duty holder so that reserves don't get screwed over.
If you're on light duties you don't have a duty as such,your duty is being covered by A.N Other who should get your day off.
The tuesday off thing does appear to be a business wide position although it's not an agreed thing and if your office has long and shorts you have to be careful you're not being short changed financially.
Would I accept it?
No but you will have to fight for it.

How can there be so many grey areas when we are meant to have a Union that negotiates and agrees National Agreements???

Well I am going to be on half a duty next week doing 4 loops as part of my rehab on the walk that gets lapsed so can I not claim the day off for that duty? Am also doing them a favour by starting same time as full timers to help put up a frame but means I finish earlier.
