I turn up at delivery office at 5.20 with mail Monday morning with 24 yorks. Due time of arrival is 5.25 but staff waiting for mail since 4.40 but the thing is they don't start till 5.00. Now should I get there early or should I get there on time? They always moan that I am late but I am actually early. Your thoughts please

Personally, I'd turn up bang on time.
I'd also tell them I don't appreciate being moaned at, for doing my job correctly and safely.
It's people like that, that are causing a fair amount of issues within offices.

I can remember doing nights in the good old days and was told to keep gates locked.People moaned at me i just laughed at them and told them to adjust there alarms.They gave the Dom a right earbashing funny as Then he told me to open up when the first person arrived.I told him the time that person arrived and if he wants the gate open to come in and do it.Next day people climbing over gates pissed myself and took photos.Showed Dom he was in next morning to open up idiot

It's easy to slag off delivery staff but managing your daily workload is far more difficult in delivery where you can't just throw down what you're delivering and walk out the door.

No they shouldn't start early but drivers are not perfect either,some of them drive like idiots to make impossible feed times,some of them throw Yorks off a half descended ramp(just like cutting corners in delivery) and I've lost count of the number of drivers who have told me they don't have time to take back empty Yorks...how does not having time work when you have a fixed start and finish time?

It seems that with the advent of BT2010 that seems to be the stock answer by all and sundry to whenever they have failed or don't want to do something, incidentally requiring a comment by some as to how little others do in comparison to their very full itenary.

Most will be flyers trying to get ahead to be able to start their overtime earlier.

However some may feel under pressure to complete heavy deliveries and are scared to cut off and tell the dom.

Is that the sort of climate that BT2010 has created, part time jobs, overtime unpaid, afraid to speak out wondering if the union will be supportive, climbing over the gate to be able to cover duties - no there's nothing wrong with BT2010.

The only time I know of that someone climbed over the gate in my office was when someone had forgotten it was a bank holiday Monday and couldn't understand why the gate was locked
