where do you keep the overtime book

Just wondered where everyones d.o keep the overtime book for staff who
Come back to the office late and need to complete the over time sheet.
Our office keep it locked away so returning staff have to wait till the next day
When the manager comes in, but usually he's completed the sheets
before you have time to put it down on the sheet!
Is this common practice???

Our o.t. book is in the linos office, yes it's locked away by the time you finish and return but it hasn't been completed by the time you get in the next day. You're alright as long as you remember to fill it in but with so much to remember and do 1st thing it's easy to forget.

we don't have an o/t book now , the dom says wait till a sat and see if you make any time back but that's not banking hours , just want you to work your 39hrs he says , but the runners are finishing an hour or more early but that's ok, sat comes to claim still no book , so you have to write it on a bit of paper and you have to argue about it , then your wondering if you will get paid it , bring in clocking on machines then you get paid for what youve done and its not up to the dim if he wants to pay you ,they want you to do the work and the extra but they don't want to pay. tossers.

Royal mail upper management put so much pressure on mid to lower management about overtime spending that by the time we get to do the
overtime it feels like you're asking the managers to pay you from their own pockets! Ridiculous! These managers on all levels should see if they can do a whole walk, merge and now forced merge without going over the allowed time

Get the rep to grow some.

We don't "bank hours"

If your managers cannot find you enough work to fill your day, that's their tough s**t.

If your rep does nothing, go to area level, if he does nothing walk out.

Our OT sheet is next to the sign in/out sheet, you just fill in how much you went over before signing out and they pay you for it. I guess we're one of the lucky offices, having said that though our revision hasn't gone in yet.

we spoke to him and he is the area rep , scary or what , he doesn't claim as he gets paid for release days so he said ill finish early to get my time back. so what can you do. when the reps sat on managers knee.
