Managers still doing what they want

Is it just me or are things are getting worse in many of the delivery offices around the country with the CWU looking powerless to do anything about it?

What real power does the CWU have as management at all levels do not fear them and just give them the run around they are just

Some examples are:

No resource meetings are taking place in many offices and anytime there is a WTLL session it lasts for 5 - 10 mins max,
Managers in some offices are reducing the number of staff off each week - outside of the way forward agreements without any consultation,
Managers are doing away with flexible working,
Managers are not talking to the local reps and are by-passing them,
Managers are setting the IPS and indoor workloads at 100 BSI even though it has been agreed,
Area CWU reps are not backing some local reps only time they want to talk is when they are looking for your vote,
Issue of Bullying and Harassment has still not been addressed,
Managers are empowered to do what they want with RM's backing,
Savings are a joke,
Some local reps have jacked in the job due to lack of support.

What other problems are offices encountering out there and what are the CWU going to do to help as some area reps etc are to be polite shite.

Apathy from members. Nowadays members are more selfish than ever before. They will turn a blind eye if the postie next to them is being bullied due to them wanting to finish on time instead of turning round and saying stop it or even walking out due to it. The union at an office is only as strong as its members and if the managers see weakness/apathy in the members they will use it.

health and safety issues not been taken seriously by Royal Mail
staff are just numbers

The managers know which members of staff that can be easily manipulated and which ones that can be bought off.
they know it only takes 1 or 2 bad apples to ruin the whole atmosphere and turn things sour, manipulation at its best as some staff are out to look after themselves

The Union does what it wants......Union reps on full time release agreeing to things that they are never going to have to do themselves.....Union reps who agree to lapsing and then never have to do it, even though their release is coming out of the office budget.
