delivery duty change from rolling day off to waddingtons

Hi Someone has asked me to find out, if you sign for a new duty that was a rolling day off ,and your old duty was a waddingtons plus your partner is also on a waddingtons duty, can you ask the manager if he would change it to a waddingtons week,
Area rep says yes, but manager cannot be bothered and says no.
it is a driving duty and the postie is going for it under atos recomendation due to a illness under disability. we have spare driving reserves so they could pick up, the week off .
