Yes I would leave and almost certainly will do in the next 12 months.

People talk about how good our pay is, and yes it's ok(ish), but don't forget on minimum wage you aren't paying any tax, so that narrows the gap in net pay considerably... Plus most minimum wage jobs don't result in you going home in actual physical pain everyday.

I would leave in a heartbeat. I would go for less money aswell. Cant find aanything at the mo. Had enough of the daily pounding my legs and feet take. I wouldnt miss the management "style" either. Id miss some of my workmates but not all of them. Some guys I work with are total kn@bs.

I love my job although the physical demands are starting to worry me as I'm getting older.
The biggest problem is there is no longer any way to get off delivery now.
That's something the business will have to address sooner or later,of course they will probably address it by showing us the door the minute it looks like we might be slowing down.

Management are f***ing useless mind you and if anything made me leave it would be the thought of another 20 years watching them screw the business up even more.

Getting a transfer off deliveries into a mailcentre used to be easy,now with the mailcentre rationalisation program it's almost impossible,same for network/distribution or whatever they call it now.

Inside a DO there is a queue a mile long for any indoor job and even the "easier" rurals are maxed out now.
World Class Mail is about the only easy ride left but you can't get near that gravy train even if you want to because every failed manager(a lot) is trying desperately to climb aboard.

Fair point but you just got to keep trying if your not happybwith what you are doing. Logistics are employing but it is expensive to get the license nowadays. It is worth it as the pay is a lot better but remember your shifts can be all over the place and 13 hour shifts are not uncommon with also weekend work and unpaid meal reliefs and also bank holidays are part of your shifts too.
