Hi

I'm a new area reserve postie and wonder if someone could kindly point me in the direction of the appropriate guidance regarding the calculation of travel expenses for going to another office instead of your normal base.

You can only claim for travel to the office you are asked to got to from either your current office, or from your home, depending on which is closer to your new office.
It was about 45p per mile, but don't know if it still is.

Why not ask your local Rep/Area Rep? Or ring HR?

I think so yes. And can travel in works time to and from the other office, and I think transport should be provided by RM in these circumstances.
But, I know that you can be in quite a bit of profit from travel expenses, assuming the rate is still 45p per mile. If you do 100 miles a week, that's £45, you won't spend that on petrol Though there would be wear tear on your car.

Yes I am trying to find it, but if he wants he can refuse to use his own car and just show up at his office and travel in their time not his own and they an either take him there or provide him with the means or money to travel. He doesn't have to get up early and travel in his own time I know that for sure but most people don't argue it but if he turned up at his own office insisting a lift he would probably find they would stop sending him.

It is my own position on the matter. They have only asked me once to go elsewhere, and I said fine but you provide the means and during my work time. Your workplace is your workplace.
Don't know what agreement, if any, it's in.
I wouldn't just turn up and say give me a van or whatever, but tell them when they ask what you expect. And like you say, unless they're really desperate, they'll probably stop asking.

the OP also stated he is a new AREA RESERVE dont think he is going to be able to refuse to go to other offices as that seems to be exactly what he was employed for

I think there is a difference between being asked to go to an office for one day and being sent to work there for a week.

If you are an AREA reserve, where exactly is your parent office?
