When is going uphill with a trolley faster than going uphill with a bag? In georute, or so we are currently being told. Just one of the crazy comments currently coming from planners.

We are beng told that flat is slower than steep in geo and so gives you more time to deliver it, planners all seem to know, yes i realise it sounds barmy (they say) but thats how it is.

Can someone clear something up please.
What is flat/steep/undulating? Definitions or as geo understands it, and how the method interacts with this - speed wise.
Who in the union (agreed) that using a trolley on steep is faster than using a trolley on flat? Several (4) planners have told us this so far. If they did.

We planned the duties after a failed revision on undulating (80%), basically anything that wasnt a like a pancake we put to undulating, they then told us flat was faster and they changed it all to flat, guess what? times tumbled.

Has anyone else had these issues?

You're actually closer than you think.
The assumption in georoute is that the loop is planned to go downhill therefore the default speed for (down)hill is higher than flat terrain.

You are just not supposed to plan the loop to take the trolley up anything that could be called a hill..
