Part timer doing full time duty

We are quite early on in our revision all the part-timers have signed for duties full timers not yet as it's still a bit of shambles,Manager who set up all the duties running round throwing off rounds out delivering too trying to make it look as if everything is working fine ,before this revision we hardly saw him when there was work to be done.Now we have full timers doing part time duties and vica versa .The problem i am having is been told i am going to be training a part timer on a full time round as the duty holder is off long term sick, one guy refused to do this as he does not agree with it,i think it's a nonsense as well as the part timer is a floater and only knows only 2 out of the 5 duties they cover and should be trained on them first.Do i do as i am told or the same as the other guy, the manager has a habit of causing friction between colleges doing things like this, most of the time we all get on despite him.

Entirely your choice. If you do then make sure you will be getting paid the training allowance. If not then refuse.

The "devide and conquer" tactic is a favorite tool of the screws,
as above, make sure u get paid the allowance.

We're beginning to see a full time part time divide in our office now,,bosses rubbing there hands . The problem is while the full timers are all busting a gut ,the part timers have all came in cpl hours before time and are just sitting at there frames .Its crazy royal mail now , place sickens me .

Are the p/t getting paid for those couple of hours?
If not it shouldn't be any skin off the f/ts noses. personally as a p/t I won't spend a second longer in the d.o than I have to but some folk have no life or clue.

No one should spend a second longer in their place of work unless they are being paid for it, well said Sidley
