Does Revision mean P&L?

I work in an office that's not P&L yet, But for the last few months i've been hearing about a revision happening in the future at my office, but unsure if this means it'll change to P&L? Does 'revision' these days generally mean the change over to P&L? or is it just like a reshuffle of the walks? and if so what happens in that case, do the walks get a few streets added or taken away?

If the planners believe your rounds can work with p&l they will try it. Especially on town rounds. But, I was part of a P&l round which has now been changed to 2 separate rounds. This was after a revision. Which is great because the p&l was a nightmare and physically exhausting. If it had not been divided into 2 rounds I was ready to leave.

I need to work alone, thats the main reason i took this job, It drives me mad in the morning just being in the office for a few hours, Im probably one of the biggest introverts, I know i have problems, do they still have lighthouse keepers these days?

That guy has the perfect job, he's a lucky man, even has his own little hut, its like he's lost in time! But even he realises it will change one day.
It's becoming increasingly hard to find job's where you get to work alone, I don't understand why companies are so against it? We're not all social animals! I used to work as a night shift Security Guard, but the company i worked for bought in a policy of two guards per site at night, so i left. Maybe i could go back to that? find a dodgy security company that doesn't care for the safety of the night shift guys?

My office went live 2 weeks ago. Our union rep was fully involved with the planning, but it isn't working well. Where p&l does seem to work, is on rounds with addresses in close proximity to each other I.e a council estate (am I allowed to say that?) don't get me wrong, they only just work. They are worked out to the minute. There's no time for chatting you have to get your head down and really motor! It is absolutely exhausting,
Where it isn't working is on rounds like mine with far fewer houses which are spaced a long way apart, plus very hilly. I could virtually cycle right up to each letter box. Having to walk these distances is just a joke, plus, they have a meeting with you in the planning stages, they asked me to agree with how long it takes to complete my round. They then had to increase it to make it 4 hours (2 hours for 2 people) so they have added 2 roads to it! This being based on a totally different delivery method! I have only managed to complete my round(s) once over the 2 weeks since revision started. And this is with people starting as early as 3 am on IPS!! Now I have always been an extremely conscientious worker, but this has now caused me so much distress. I know it's just a job, but I can't switch off. I was so proud of the fact that in over ten years I had NEVER cut off. Last Friday I had no choice as I had to collect my kiddies from school. That evening I developed chest pains so went to bed early. I woke at 2 am with now severe chest pains, I was sweating like mad and then vomited! I was rushed to a&e as it was thought I was suffering a heart attack!
I was kept in hospital for the day to monitor, as there was concern as I am a type 1 diabetic. The doctor believes this was a result of stress/anxiety and I have now been put on anti-depressants! So if you ask me NO, p&l does not, and can not work on all deliveries
Just a final word, as I am getting really wound up just typing this! My wife phoned my work while I was in hospital and informed them of the situation. Since arriving home, and it's now Wednesday, they have made no contact with me at all, and no one answers the phone at the office.

I work a van share on park and loop which has been in for over two years now.
Typically on an average week we will go over by anything from 30 - 90 minutes from Wednesday to Friday - probably finish on time Monday and Saturday and occasionally a little early on a Tuesday.
The main reason we go over is the number of attendance calls with packets, but to a lesser, but more important degree we DO NOT kill ourselves to meet a deadline. There was nothing in the agreements to say that you had to walk faster or not take a breather or a pee break to compensate for LWT's or HCT's slowing you down. The choice is either a few reasonable earning opportunities each week or cut off by arrangement. Put up with the trolleys until you have experienced both the benefits and problems - I've had no back or neck problems since using one, but must admit the longer routes have caused knee and foot problems. I miss using the bike to some degree but like the resource of having a van when you need one. I'm fortunate to have a good van buddy but even if you don't you only have to put up with them for a few minutes at a time.

When you go back to work, inform your manager and ideally with rep present, that you aren't going to make yourself Ill trying to run around a delivery that is too long. You'll be going in on time, working to a good rate (not taking the p*ss, just a decent workrate) and cutting off at your finish time. If the delivery is too long to complete it's their problem and you just have to be firm. It's your health and it's worth more than any job.

Before we started P&L I'd cut off once in 14 years, that was a day after a strike. Now we do it occasionally until Christmas comes, then it's cut offs a few times a week.

just a note - you can be glad you have had a duty which you havent had to cut off in the past, people dont cut off because of lack of "pride", its because of the problems youre now experiencing. ie too much work, too little time and poor planning.

Went live last Monday.The bloke I work with is pretty cool but the 2 rounds we now do are just to much.Had a day off today dreading tomorrow but we will cut off when we need to.Most of the idiots in my office come in early and still do not take meal breaks.Union rep resigned, managers are all for their little pets who do overtime due to the small rounds that have fallen into their hands.Revision means only one thing.Unless your a managers pet you will be soul destroyed.
