Where Royal Mail makes a decision to progress a change/s in respect of the mail centre network the discussions and negotiations regarding all aspects of the impact will be carried out appropriately in line with current national agreements, the IR Framework and the following terms:

Thanks everyone. It's really got me peeved. They know they are going to struggle to cover that as a duty. I don't see why they can't offer the collection as an SA that way it will be covered.

it is a revision and if someone signs for that duty they are signing for the hours connected to that duty

I am however confused over your comment 'anyone that is picked into it' surely you pick your own duties???

If someone chooses that duty in the repick they will have to complete the duty but also will be full time

we have hybrid duties in my office about 10 of them and they were stupidly popular as they are 'normal' working hours

so I don't really understand the problem if the hours are clearly advertised why would anyone picking the duty have cause to complain?

Well yeah if they sign for it then of course they will have to. My point is if nobody picks it then they are saying they will force someone to do it. Regardless of their contracted hours.

hold on hold on... they can't force to to do anything. period.

we had our revision and there are plenty of people still be paid to do 8 hour days however the duties are 7 hr 38. new employees get the correct contract whilst current ones get lucky doing their 8 hour days. (of course full timers are 39 hours split over 5 days)

they wouldnt pick up full time if they chose to keep there contracted hours regardless of how low in senirority they are. agreed some people would want full time hours but not everyone for various reasons.

Pick a hybrid. Float in at ten am, pick out the mail that the other poor guy that started at seven has had to throw out for you, as well as his own, then it's a 4 1/2 hour delivery and about 1 hours collection and home ya go. What a joke these duties are, totally unfair. The guy that's started at 7 is fatigued and tired by 1 or 2 o clock and the other guy is still fresh and wants to run round so he can get a longer break before doing his p!!?? Easy collections.

Not all hybrids are that easy. I start at 715 or 8 depending on day and finish at 1755 or 1825. Collections can be from 1and a half to 2 and a half hours. If u get shafted and with lapsing on a bad day your break is the first thing to go as u can't be late for collection. So as easy as you may think it is, it also has its bad points as many posties can't do them as they cant finish at 6 or 630 and don't like the 11 hour days. I like it as its a 4 day week but I wouldn't call it a joke of a duty in any way. I have done both and although you get an extra day off you are just as knackered
