Just had another piece of RM propoganda dropped through the letterbox:The Courier Employee Survey 2013.

I am happy to work for Royal Mail.My managers treat me with respect and fairness

I loved the bit that said that "56% of RM employees would recommend the company as an employer to friends and family". Is that really a statistic to be proud of, that almost half of your workforce thinks the company is s**t?

They've only released 3 stats.

62% of you feel proud to work for Royal Mail Group. This is 1% higher than 2012.
And about 30% lower than when I started.

67% of you would recommend Royal Mail Group’s services to a friend or family member.
Yes that's a real endorsement of the company,that 1/3rd of us would tell our family not to use Royal Mail even though it keeps us in a job.

And 58% of you – a 2% increase – say you work together to get the job done well.
What does that even mean?
Do the rest work alone to get the job done well or work together to get the job done badly?

Where's the rest.
They did this last year,released 2 or 3 "good" stats and then promised the rest later...then nothing.
They are so full of s**t.

84% of you want to be with RMG in two years time (up 2%)-------This is not a ringing endorsement of job satisfaction , it's more of a worry about job security.

Everyone you speak to from mailcenters through delivery to counters is sick to the back teeth of RM cut backs and increasing the workload. How RM can present these results as an improvement is beyond me. I think they are a terrible set of results.

When I completed the survey I mentioned the fact that I was bullied in my early days.

Have the results really got any better with these surveys in the last couple of years or is Royal Mail cooking the figures again so to speak.

Think about it this way yes they say that the results have improved slightly year on year over the last 2 years however what they fail to mention is that this was the same time that they started to allow the managers to fill in the surveys. And with the vast in flow of acting managers etc over the last 12 months we see another slight improvement.

Heard someone mention but I do not know if it is true, that a certain percentage of a managers bonous goes towards the number of people within an office that fill them in and for any improvements made on previous years results in their office. Now I know why alot of people have to fill them in during WTLL sessions with linos basically telling you what to write.

It's all lies lies and more lies.

I don't fill them in (and most of the people in my office say they didn't fill them in either) so you can't read anything into these results, too few people fill them in and that should be the only result they take into account.

Our wtll had an office handing them to a manager who was wearing gloves and putting them all into a special delivery envelope
