Contract Renewal?

Ok I know what RM management are like, but my contract ran out last month and still haven't seen a new one? Im used to it being a few weeks late but never this long?
My name is still on the rota and the pay slips keep coming. Just wondering if i haven't signed anything could they just let me go like next week or something?
How do RM even go about letting people go, does the DOM call you into his office or do they send you a letter or what?

Last time that happened to me I phoned up the HR number on the back of the payslip and spoke to the helpful people there who said they would look into it. Don't know if it was a coincidence but the new contract turned up just a few days later.

As I understand it if the contract has ended and you are still in employment then you have the same rights as permanent employees - this includes any rd notice periods.



So if I am right and then the minimum notice is 2 weeks.

Of course the stupid thing is if they don't give you the required notice then you can't go to an ET till you have been here 2 years - but you might be able to sue them.

As to how the inform you, as far as I know it should be in writing (either by post or in Hand)

don't worry some time i received my renewal after a month or two so just carry on.

All fixed term contracts have to have an end date and a notional reason as to why the contract will come to an end on that date.
By failing to renew or terminate your fixed term contract and then continuing to employ you they have changed your employment status.
Congratulations as far as U.K employment law is concerned you are now a permanent employee.
You will need to speak to your area rep who will need to involve the union legal team who in turn will deal with R.M's H.R department.
If this works out prepare for the bullying and harassment.

As long as you are down on the staffing sheet/duty roster or whatever it's called, just keep turning up.
I'm sure they'd tell you if there was a problem/change.
