Alterations to hours/days worked.

I was told today that I "may" be able to change from a 25hrs total (5hr/5day) week to something like: 4 days @ 6.25hrs or 3 days @ 8hrs 20mins.

This would enable me to be more fully utilised in work and also would fit in with my out-of-work activities.

Has anyone on here done something similar, and what are the benefits/pitfalls that you've come across?

ta...Ill look into it. I recall doing 3 days in one week when they requested it, so it may work out.

Is it always going to be the same three days (e.g Thu, Fri, Sat) or could it change from week to week?

Erm...Dunno, not bothered really. But I do know I've been only getting "approx" 1 in 7 Sats off for the last few yrs. Be nice to get the Agreed 1in 4/5/6 off.

A few people in my husbands office are on this deal and they work Mon, Tue, Weds one week then Thur, Fri, Sat the next. It means they have every other saturday off and and seven days off in a row every fortnight too. But most of them went on 10hr delivery/collection days so the long break is much appreciated not sure if it would work differently if you were just on deliveries.

25hrs (5x5) at my office are all going to 3 day week from Monday, although we''re all losing 1.5 hours per week.
Initially as a group we weren't all that happy about it but for some fewer drives in to work each week balances out the loss of pay.
having more days off to possibly work if you want/need to is good especially as we can now book 7 hrs 50 for a day instead off just 5 hrs
others are going to suffer because they will no longer be entitled to Working Tax Credits.
the longer days are messing up child care arrangements for some.
We all got to pick which 3 walks we wanted, so in theory we wont be messed about too much.

these are just some of the pros and cons we're faced with in my office, of course every situation is different and most of this might not even apply to you

if they offered that to me id take that...i guess its down to individual circumstances tho...
