D2D question

please can you help?

our union rep is off this week,

Over the last two weeks someone in our office hasn't taken their D2Ds, no one knows who it is, including the manager
whoever has been doing it has taken the tags from the boxes.
Now the manager has shared out all the D2Ds that were not taken,
around 60 per person & then told everyone in our office to take them on their own walks,to get them out of the office!

Can they do this ? as some of us don't see why we should take someone else's D2Ds, when we have already taken ours.

They can do anything they like if you let them.
Contact your branch and let them know,they will give you advice,you might even get to meet your Area Rep...and consider getting a sub rep in your D.O...rep takes holiday,manager takes advantage....it happens a lot.

We have got a sub rep, however he has been off sick with a torn Achilles tendon since before Christmas
he was good when he was the rep I will try to contact him.

The new rep is a waste of time

Basically the manager has failed in their job, i.e. to make sure all staff are completing their workloads, and is now punitively punishing everyone for it, possibly in the hope one of you knows who the culprit is and will grass them up.

Be careful of that.
Contact branch first and make them aware of it.
If you have a D2D sheet detailing the contracts you should have try to keep a copy of it along with details of the D2D you are being asked to deliver.

When they ask you to do it get a witness,ask for clarification of the instruction,ask for it in writing,tell them you are uncomfortable with an instruction to deliver D2D outside it's contract specification,tell them you are worried that this might affect your job security,ask to speak to a senior manager...if they are still around which is unlikely then politely decline on the grounds that you believe the request to be in breach of Royal Mail's code of business standards with regards to fraudulent reporting of quality standards.

I contacted our sub rep, who stormed in today ....he contacted area rep

he told us not to take them, obviously manager wouldn't give him it In writing

some of the D2Ds were 4 weeks old and some were for a special offer that had ended!

The manager admitted to the sub rep that they thought the D2Ds had been left by someone from another office that was here covering.
I heard he has put a disagreement in with the manager over it

I have an e-mail from Moya's office stating that the re-delivery of surplus D2D's is not RM Policy.

Ive covered loads at bilston, I was there the day the manager in question ordered those d2d's was taken and it was ridiculous.
Its a cop out to say someone has bought them from another office, easy way out and an easy way to get someone who comes to help you out into deep trouble.
