You have to inform RM.Kafinater wrote:Whats the ruling on having a second job, either full time or part time outside of RM?
You cannot work for a competitor and there cannot be a conflict of interest.
You have to watch your total work hours, especially driving.
You will get taxed to the point where it will make you weep.
That's about it.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

"You have to watch your total work hours, especially driving." - yes, drivers are asked twice a year if they have another job, non-drivers probably aren't .

Re: A Second Job?
When I was working my 3 months notice before VR I had booked the final 2 weeks as AL. I was offered a 3 month contract with another firm but they needed me to start within my AL period. I wanted to clear it with RM and HR told me the only way they would allow it was to advance my LDOS by 2 weeks and I would need to forfeit my outstanding leave... nice

Re: A Second Job?
I spent quite a few years gardening as a part time job, a lot easier before all the changes when I got home at 11am. Ended up being swamped in the summer by requests for my services and led onto other things such as decorating etc. Work for yourself not for others, more money and you don't have nobs like post office managers telling you what to do.

That is obviously going back quite a few years, you'd be on your 1st loop at that time now.spoodoo wrote:11am. . ? Bloody hell

Paying extra Tax will only apply if you earn £50,000 or more per year from the 2 jobs in total.
I have had a 2nd job for years and pay 20% for royal mail and my other Job.

Yes the tax bands have dropped so the working class can pay for this and previous Governments cock ups.
