3rd stage warning?

I would like some advice but not sure if this is the right place to ask for it.
My 1st stage meeting was 12-5-2012 I only had one day off sick until 8th April 2013 when I got bronchitis.
I was recently handed over to Atos to be evaluated to see if I would be able to return to work.
I had been off with bronchitis for 12 days at this time.

Atos said that she would suggest to work that I should come back on rehab and do 1/4 of my post round for 2-3 days and then 1/2 for 2-3 days and 3/4 my round for 2-3 days then back on my full round to build my stamina back up after my illness.
Work said that they couldn't accommodate that and I would have to go on my full round as soon as I got back.

I wasn't feeling 100% when I went back to work after 20 days off and told the manager this and he let me stay off my duty for 2 days in the office, but I would have to go back on my round after that.
He said he would send someone out to help me if I needed it.
He didn’t and my round partner was doing most of the round because I couldn’t manage.

I let them know I was having trouble in my 2nd stage meeting and my collegues were helping me.
At this time I was feeling worse each day so I went back to the doctors and I was told I now had bronchitis, pleurisy a
Slight chest infection and I had pulled the ligaments and muscles between my ribs.

I told my manager the next day and when I got back off my round found the stage 2 warning on my fitting.
I am now off work again as I collapsed on my post round on Friday 17th may and had to be taken into hospital.
I was told by the doctor at hospital that I have condition called costochiditis which is inflammation of the cartilage, ligaments and muscle's between and over the ribs and is severely painful when breathing and moving and in my case caused by constant coughing from the bronchitis.
The doctor at the hospital said I have to have complete bed rest for 5 days.
My g.p has given me another note for 4 weeks.
I’m also back under Atos and she said it will be 3-4 weeks before I’m well enough to go back to work.
i was back at work almost 3 weeks when i collasped this time.
I’m so scared i will lose my job I’m beside myself.
Could they call it a separate illness or the same? Should I be waiting for them to try and give me a 3rd stage and maybe lose my job? Or will they keep me on a 2nd stage?

Contact your rep and get the Area Rep involved - and tell them exactly what has happened they will be able to help and from what you've posted here not only shouldn't you be on a Stage 3 - however thats an opinion and you MUST get the Union, or someone with experience involved at the earliest opportunity.

You have been treated disgracefully and I think any Managers reading this should be shocked, unfortunately posties won't be.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

The area rep is involved and he says we can’t do anything until I’m 100% better and back at work.
But it’s just so hard to try and get better when all I’m doing is stressing if I have a job to go back to.
The rep said it was my fault for going back to soon, and I know that looking back I shouldn’t have, and I shouldn’t of let work frighten me with the "you need to contact us urgently or if you did not reply to this letter decisions may be made on your future based on the evidence to hand“ letter.
That statement on its own to me reads "your job is on the line "as I think It would to most postie's.
I just thought I would maybe feel better after talking to the rep and I just didn’t. Nothing in my mind was clarified.
I’m a very organized person and need everything that is relevant in front of me so I can see what I have, I cant leave my job in someone else’s hand I need to know where I stand and what’s going to happen.
I guess I came on this site for a little moral support and have found it.

I do not think that there is any question of doubt that you are suffering from the same illness which triggered your Stage 2. You used the OH services and followed the instruction from of your Manager who failed to accept the Professional advice he was given, consequently exacerbating your health problem.

Your stage 3 meeting will have triggered due to the ten day limit having been reached since your stage 2.

There should be no need for you be worried about the meeting, I cannot imagine any Local Rep being unable to win this within the first half minute never mind an Area Rep.
