NO DRINKS ALLOWED ON IPS

After the new revision has gone through our DOM who does have an habit of making up his own rules has said
there will be no food/snacks/drinks allowed on IPS. There are about 5 in the office who are rooted to IPS for the first 2 hours in a morning therefore we will be allowed no drink although we will be allowed drinks once IPS work has finished.
Amazingly this does not affect the Dom who sits in his office just yards away, is this unlawful ? or another made up rule by our DOM

If you can't go without a drink for 2 hours then I'd check up your health at the doctors................remember that coffee is your enemy, fight your enemy at every turn

It has nothing to do with whether you can manage two hours without one, remaining adequately hydrated is a basic welfare right and it cannot be refused without good reason. If, "I need all the sorting done" is the reason then I'd consider it isn't good enough!

I am pleading the 5th amendment on this, I am different - totally in control of my trembling and short sightedness and my colleague makes our tea/coffee and puts it in front of me - I've told him not to but nobody does anything I say and I feel it would be rude to just leave the drink, chocolate fingers and/or jam doughnut

During summer (assuming at some point we get a decent one), it is necessary to keep hydrated, and my boss has provided us with drinks bottles to take with us. Yes, that's right, RM manager in caring shocker (or maybe preventing his own neck on chopping block). Even early on, it can get quite warm, and I would not want to go 2 hours without a drink.
To me, it just seems like a punitive punishment. Maybe, if you and your colleagues productivity fell, they would have a change of mind.

we've not been allowed drinks on the IPS for a long time. They did'nt want us having any drink on the operational floor but I suggested RM give everyone a stainless steel travel mug, which to my surprise they have done. We've new backless frames which come with stools as part of the kit but the stools have started to disappear. The issue has now been raised to ADR so hopefully they will return soon. I really hate all this WCM crap.
