our office has gone over to park and loop for the last 2 weeks bleeding hectic and I cannot believe quite a few of personel are not taking there meal relief before they leave office there excuse will not be able to complete. there the first buggers to complain when dim dom wants to bring in lapsing ,plus if you do not take these breaks we could lose them all together. rant over

As our office is going into van share. ...we was all told my managers, planners and union you MUST take your 20 minutes break before you start your delivery. ...this goes for every office

Give it a couple of weeks,then it will be like the start of Le mans all thoughts of tea breaks gone out the window,the sound of revving combo engines as the rush begins.

Our office is full of them,they do it to avoid the aggro you get from the managers about underperforming and how you must prep your walk in in ridiculous time and saying it's under model week you should be out now.
why does it always seem like its a competition between posties always trying to be the first out and the first to finish, and getting the piss ripped out of you for going 'slow' doing the job properly etc.... were not in the olympics
I've had a couple of occasions when a manager has asked that I forego my break to ensure I can complete my work. I told them no, one even insisted that I had no choice as it was a direct instruction, I said give it me in writing, a break is a legal entitlement. They didn't obviously. They offered OT, but due to their attitude, I decided I was 'busy' that day, so they had to find someone else to cover it.

I have to disagree on aspects of this. Whilst there certainly is a management problem and therefore a bullying issue in some places... we must admit that we are our own worst enemies.
The early starters are looking to go home early ; do ghost overtime. The runners are the same.
If , you have the temerity to question this practice ; and explain that their work practices have cost jobs ; caused absorption and lapsing.. you are met with either abuse or ignorance.
WHen you raise the issue with management. They smile and say people should not come in early ; that ghost OT does not exist ; and that 'we have a clear office policy'
This can be a very good job and in the same instance a very frustrating one (with Management and colleauges.)

I come in 10 minutes early to have a coffee before I start and the DOM is asking me to clear my packet bag down as its full up , yer right .
The early starters are even badgering the DOM to get people up on the IPS earlier because they are up to date, you wouldnt believe it .
They are taking so many hours out of our office due to the early starters that they have reduced the hours of the PT staff to come in 1.5 hours later

I am often in early, not by design, just depends on where I can park my car, if I get a decent space I can be early, so I refuse to start early and have a first. On occasion, the DOM has asked why I'm stood around doing nothing, I say not being late to work, and tell him my start time. Knob.
